At Fresh Creative CIC, we’ve seen how public art doesn’t just change how a place looks — it changes how it feels. Murals can redefine identity, strengthen local pride, and create a real sense of belonging.
Art Meets Innovation
Swansea’s creative scene is evolving fast, and technology is helping to accelerate that journey. For instance, tools like VR sketching and digital projection mapping (using devices such as the Meta Quest) are now becoming integral to the mural-making process. As a result, artists can plan, experiment, and refine designs more efficiently, while still keeping creativity and detail at the heart of every project.
Just as Leonardo da Vinci once built early optical projection tools to help perfect his compositions, today’s artists are continuing that legacy. New technology allows art to remain ambitious, accessible, and beautifully accurate.
Bringing People Together Through Colour
Every mural tells a story — and every story begins with people. In Swansea, murals have increasingly become powerful catalysts for connection. Over time, we’ve seen neighbours, students, and volunteers come together to share brushes, ideas, and laughter. Furthermore, in addition to enhancing the environment, these murals inspire ongoing engagement. As a result, residents are encouraged not only to take pride in their surroundings but also to actively participate in future artistic initiatives, fostering a continuous cycle of creativity and community connection.
Workshops allow everyone to take part in shaping their surroundings. Children see their imagination made permanent; adults rediscover their creativity.
