Graffiti workshops for the BBC Radio 1 Academy Swansea. Really enjoyed working together with young people to design and paint this bespoke sign saying Cymru.
Working through the design process, the group spent time developing styles and colour schemes from street art magazines, so they could personalise the final piece. Sketching out ideas, looking at different letter forms and how they can be characterised. After the group had settled on a design it was time to bring it to life.
Using a similar process, the word was sketched out, this time using spray paint to create the outlines. Each member of the group was given time to contribute to the layout and practice the basic hand to eye techniques when using spray paint. Applying block colours, fades and finer details the end product used a variety of skills, and the young people were very happy with result.
