Creative Practitioners @davelong.art and David Toft were invited to the school by Harriet Jones, the class teacher for a group of 29 children in Year 4, to develop a mural incorporating themes important to them.
Working with the class they told us the issues that were important them, so we could represent them on the playground wall. It was clear that they were all passionate about the earth, the environment and the future of the planet. The reoccurring theme of animals and the ocean was the basis of the design.
Whilst Dave brought the mural to life, the students gave pointers on the composition of the piece and where the various elements should go. As you can see from the photos the mural came to life over the two days.
